Introduction
My name is Abigail White and welcome to my blog all about animal rescue! Animal rescue has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I am excited to share tips about finding your forever furry friend, how to help even if you can't adopt a pet, and so much more! On average 1.5 million animals are killed in shelters each year in the United States due to breeding, puppy mills, and not getting pets spayed and neutered. Rescue animals sometimes get a bad reputation for having tempers. Some people say you don't know rescue animals backgrounds or that you can't trust them because they might be aggressive, but this couldn't be farther from the truth! In my eleven years of experience in animal rescue, there have been very few cases where an animal has been aggressive and the rescue puts these animals in training and does not adopt them out. I personally have rescued more stray animals than I can count and have found all of them homes either through adopting out the animal to people I trust, or handing them over to a trusted rescue. Not only can animal rescue save a life of an innocent animal, but you also gain a best friend!
I love the topic at hand that you plan to discuss. I've always been an animal lover myself, al little bit more of a dog lover than others for sure but nonetheless, the realization of the importance and impact of what there is to do about rescuing animals is definitely important.
ReplyDeleteAbigail, I cannot begin to tell you how many animals I have rescued throughout the years. We all have that one fur baby who steals our heart and for me it was an abused and extremely malnourished solid white miniature poodle that I named Dolly. I found her when she was a year old, and she instantly became my baby who went everywhere with me. I always told people she was the one who rescued me, and she truly did. She passed away in 2013 at the age of sixteen years old and I still miss her so much. People do not realize how many amazing pets are waiting to be loved and rescued and I hope your blog sheds some much needed light on this topic.
ReplyDeleteHow you doing Abigail I find your blog interesting to me because I am an animal lover but do not own one. I would love to learn more about animal rescue to get a feel on different insights about animals and what they go through
ReplyDeleteThe information about shelters and their numbers of killing reminds me the problem with a stray gray cat on campus, that I called Miss Davey. She was really Pregnant around spring break and there was debates for weeks about what to do with her. Just a few weeks ago, She was taken to a no kill shelter by a student here and most likely gave birth there.
